Job Summary

Centerline is growing in Maine! We have a tremendous group of people at the new location and they are looking for experienced telecom and/or electrical lineman to join them in building new telecom networks in the State of Maine. Waveguide, a division of Centerline is actively hiring experienced and motivated telecom lineman who will function as a foreman and run their own crew. This position is based out of our Fairfield Maine office.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Leadership and managerial skills in which the individual is able to run small jobs with a few crews looking to them for guidance
  • Must be able to receive any work within the normal scope of work we do and be able to complete in a timely fashion (aerial and underground)
  • Responsible for all crew paperwork and documentation; turn in all correct documentation associated with job upon completion of the task
  • Responsible for delegating work within the crew and take a leadership role by taking responsibility for the actions of himself and his crew
  • Ability to able to read maps (design), able to run assist wheel and figure 8 fiber
  • Can hook and climb poles successfully, assemble stock I.E. snow shoes
  • Can build strand, load a lasher, lash cable and fiber and be able to do all basic pole transfers
  • Stock truck with stock for the day’s job assignment
  • Check oil and do VIR before every shift
  • Responsible for general organization of truck and cleanliness of truck both in and out
  • Accountable for the advancement and training of anyone on the levels below them
  • Conscientious regarding the safety of him/herself at times as well as the safety of every other crew member or individual on the job site

Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • At least two year’s experience with placing aerial copper plant, tensioning strand to proper specifications utilizing a tension meter/dynamometer.
  • Experience safely transferring high count copper cables.
  • Experience with pole placements and removals.
  • Show up for work daily and on time
  • Must possess and continue to possess a valid driver’s license and pass random driver’s license screenings
  • Ability to make independent judgment and perform repetitive tasks
  • Regular contact with co-workers and customers
  • Within 90 days of start date, take and pass OSHA-10 Certification which is paid for by the company
  • Must be able to take and pass, and continue to pass a DOT Physical
  • Travel required

Work Environment

  • Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 80 lbs continuously
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Environmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise.
