Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing documentation of existing field conditions and/or scoping details of each site to the project team and responsible for creating field sketches and drawing. Field work may include but not limited to, measuring, and providing accurate sketches and notes. Work must adhere to Centerline’s established specifications and standards.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Willing and able to work in the outdoors, on building roof tops, in a man-lift and on portable and fixed ladders in compliance with OSHA Standards.
  • Valid Driver’s license, excellent driving record and clear background check required.
  • Ability to provide documentation including photos, field measurements, writing and sketching field notes, visual assessments, and completing designated forms/checklists for each site visit.
  • Learn and incorporate work safety requirements.
  • Travel and work as a team to function as part of a 1 or 2-person crew.
  • Basic land surveying skills.
  • Familiarity with set up and use of GPS and IKE devices.
  • Routinely produce engineering drawings quickly, efficiently and accurately.
  • Prepare lease exhibits from site sketches and related data
  • Prepare zoning drawings from sketches and municipal data
  • Complete basic red lines of drawings quickly and accurately.
  • Read and understand mapping reports and other field reports.
  • Track assigned tasks and be aware of project priorities.
  • Learn, understand and adhere to Centerline’s standards and templates.
  • Read and understand site plans and construction drawings.
  • Understand municipal permitting and zoning requirements.
  • Understand construction methods and best practices.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • Basic mechanical abilities with measuring devices, camera and sketch pad.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and site surveys.
  • Keep track of time on multiple projects/training/meetings/etc.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions; including but not limited to snow, rain and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out written and verbal instructions.
  • Observe all company procedures and safety rules.
  • CAD Certificate, Basic Knowledge of CAD
  • Engineering/Architectural Technology degree a plus
  • 2-5 years of related field experience.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D
  • Experience with the production of civil/structural engineering drawings
  • Telecommunications experience preferred
  • First Aid & CPR (Centerline will certify if required).

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Frequently the employee is required to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 or 100 lbs.


Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • Hourly Position/Non-Manager/Non-Exempt
  • Hours: 8:30-5:00
  • Some overtime may be required


Travel

Regular travel to job sites as assigned, is expected for this position. Some projects may require more out-of-area, overnight and extended travel. Overnight travel may be required approximately 20% of the time. Be willing to travel up to 8 hours per day.

 

 

Expected compensation includes $20 to $30 per hour and benefits including medical, vision, and dental benefits, and 401k retirement plan available for eligible employees. Compensation offered may vary depending on factors such as an individual’s education, training, experience, skills, geographic location, seniority, merit, and other factors that are job related and consistent with business need.
