Job Summary

The Senior Project Manager and Engineer for EV Projects is responsible for the design/build, scheduling, coordinating, daily reporting, and supervising of all onsite electrical vehicle installation subcontractors and employees for the assigned projects. This position will directly report to the Senior Regional Director of EV Projects.  Project management consists of design, pre-construction, site work construction, installing, altering, and repairing electrical vehicle charging systems and equipment associated with commercial electrical construction projects, including but not limited to creating a bill of materials, collecting bids from subcontractors, construction scheduling, quality control, job cost tracking, internal and client reporting.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for all preconstruction activities associated with assigned projects, (including but not limited to) basic project design, scope of work writing, working with the electrical engineering team to develop signed and sealed drawings, estimating, permitting, tracking bids, administrative setup of projects, getting subcontractor bids, coordination with utility companies where new or upgraded power is needed, and project scheduling.
  • Provide overall administration and technical management of the project team.
  • The ability to create an electrical one-line drawing, and basic site plan, and write detailed scopes of work that can be used for estimating and bidding on an EV project.
  • Have an A/C electrical knowledge base needed for this role, including but not limited to single and three-phase power, voltage up to 480V, and amperage up to 8,000 AMPS (rarely greater).
  • Responsible for overseeing the installation and electrical construction of all EV charging elements.
  • Provide planning and design recommendations, with workflow guidance in support of productivity, within the EV charging construction environment.
  • Responsible for supervising the activities of the EV construction team with responsibility for some financial and/or operational results including planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the activities of the onsite team.
  • Translate individual operational goals into team goals.
  • Provide technical advice and subject matter expertise across multiple EV construction projects.
  • Contribute to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Regularly interact with the executive management and business development teams as needed.
  • ensuring Centerline safety, company standards, and policies are met by team members in the daily performance of tasks.
  • Responsible for the oversight of all day-to-day functions of the assigned team including workforce management, quality performance, tracking percent complete status, cost to complete status, job costing, daily logs, scheduling, and client reporting.
  • Provide technical assistance and communicate technical information and status to the project team.
  • Coach and develop a team to have a sense of urgency in providing on-time performance as well as quality products for Centerline’s customers.
  • Supervisory level responsibility for employees assigned on a project level and subcontractors.
  • Act as an advisor and or expert to subordinates, team members, and clients for elevated issues and problems.
  • Identify appropriate resources needed and work with the Senior Regional Director to develop plans and schedules.
  • Act as a team lead within the region and delegate work to team members as needed.
  • Work with the Senior Regional Director throughout the hiring process for new hires as well as help with the retention of current team members.
  • Work with the Senior Regional Director on improving internal processes and workflows.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years proven Project Management experience with EV charging stations a MUST.
  • Proficiency with PROCURE and Microsoft Suite a MUST.
  • A/C electrical systems design education or experience.
  • A/C electrical systems installation management experience, licensed journeyman, or electrical engineer.
  • Led, motivated, and developed a high-performing team of technicians and subcontractors while driving change to meet strategic business goals.
  • Work history as an electrical project manager or engineer on commercial electrical or commercial construction projects.
  • OSHA 30 certification or able to be obtained within 6 months of start.
  • Experience with PROCORE, Sage, Microsoft Visio, Auto CAD, and Conduit software a plus, but not required.
  • Data Center, Internet hub, remote monitoring, solar PV, backup power systems experience preferred but not required.
  • Time management and keen organization skills required.
  • Previous experience managing direct reports and/or indirect reports required.
  • Previous experience in commercial electrical construction preferred.
  • Preferred Licensed, certified, degree in electrical engineering, or related EV systems design experience preferred.

 

Physical Demands

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach, and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Drive and operate a vehicle, and/or bucket. Environmental conditions: exposure to heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration, and very loud noises. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer, and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier, and fax machines regularly during work. Work is performed in and out of an office environment.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time exempt position.
  • Days of work are Monday through Friday and some evenings may be required.
  • Some weekend travel may be required (but rare).

Travel

  • Travel exceeding 75%+ which includes driving and flying to project locations (Living near a major airport is a plus).
  • Travel to other markets as needed (Mostly east of the Mississippi, occasionally further west).
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.
  • They need to be east of the Mississippi near a major airport.
