Job Summary

The Construction Manager will be responsible for management of specific construction operations. This position will be tasked with producing quality work to customer specifications within the time frame and budget required by planning, coordinating, executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of construction to prevent delays. Acting as a customer contact to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction will be required for this position. Must have the ability to manage field crews, several projects, tasks in multiple locations, and possess strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills. Basic computer skills and experience, including use of Microsoft Word and Excel are required. Knowledge and experience of project and construction practices is required. You should be a self-driven individual able to execute.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Directs field operations for telecommunications projects. This includes complete construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Daily communication with client representatives, A/E firm, subcontractors, landlords, etc.  
  • Ensure tasks assigned to team are completed in timely, quality manner. Supervise subcontractors and job site personnel to complete scope of work assigned.
  • Complete work in a timely and efficient manner by planning, prioritizing and mobilizing to meet progression schedule.
  • Communicates directly with other site managers, and contractors and engineers concerning project cost, staffing, and scheduling.
  • Prepare project status reports and works to ensure plans adhere to contract specifications.
  • Supports bids & proposal efforts, estimating development, reviews, client presentations and relationships, and grows regional project work
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and quality requirements for all personnel and third-party vendors.
  • Embrace strong work ethics personally and throughout company and client teams.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • Strong communication skills; able to leverage other Service Managers and/or subject matter experts to achieve division goals; proven ability to lead teams through adversity and consistently motivate.
  • Analytical skills on performance metrics and other measurable business processes and tasks
  • Initiative: Able to identify problems or new ideas without prompting, does not wait for others to take, or request to take, action
  • Calm Demeanor: Maintaining composure is key; must have a great ability to maintain composure in challenging, high-energy environments, and help others to do the same.
  • Collaboration: Able to establish and maintain collaborative partnerships. Strong communication, relationship building and organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail: Achieves thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing a task.
  • Problem Solving: Identify root causes of problems and implement solutions.
  • 3-5 Years direct and progressive experience in the development of medium to large scale telecommunications infrastructure projects or consolidations, and/or large construction project management
  • Strong and proven capabilities across all phases of project management;
  • Excellent communication skills; able to leverage other PMs and/or subject matter experts to achieve project goals; proven ability to lead executive teams through complex projects and reach consensus.

Physical Demands

The physical demands representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file, or lift office supplies up to 25 pounds. The employee may drive for extended periods of time, including all weather and light conditions.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

  • This is a full-time exempt position.
  • Days of work are Monday through Friday. Some evenings/weekends required.
  • This position may require that you work irregular hours and be able to travel.

Travel

  • Travel to sites may be required, sometimes in excess of 50 miles
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.
