Job Summary

The Maintenance Electrician will be reporting to the Manager of Critical Facility Power Operations and be responsible for performing inspections and preventative maintenance on AC electrical systems and critical infrastructure.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do

  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on AC electrical systems and critical infrastructure (up to 600 volts).
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on DC power distribution systems.
  • Perform inspections and preventive maintenance on inverters.
  • Troubleshoot the cause of identified electrical issues and either repairing these issues or recommending how to repair them.
  • Preparing electrical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
  • Respond to emergency service calls at any hour of the day and troubleshooting/repairing the cause of the emergency.

Qualifications

What You Will Need

  • At least three (3) years of work experience in data center, mission critical, or telecommunication electrical maintenance.
  • A competent understanding of electrical power, both AC and DC.
  • The ability to read and comprehend written instructions, as well as the ability to work from drawings, diagrams, sketches, and/or verbal instruction.
  • Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
  • Thermographic experience (obtaining and interpreting infrared images).
  • Proficiency in the use of various electrical testing equipment such as multi-meters, DLROs, and circuit tracers. Experience with battery testing is desired.
  • Above average computer skills including the use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • A valid motor vehicle operator's license, will be assigned company vehicle.
  • The physical ability to perform basic maintenance tasks which include the climbing of ladders and the lifting of up to 50 lbs.
  • Availability to work varying shifts, weekends, and some holidays as needed.
  • A “team player” mentality committed to working in a quality, safety-conscious environment.
  • A current state or locality-issued Journeyman Electrician's license is preferred 

 

About the role:

  • Travel will be required within an assigned area between PA/MD border to VA/NC border.  Periods of overnight travel will be required during the week.  No weekend travel is required.
  • Position is remote based from home; schedules will be assigned in a few weeks in advance.
  • Some night shift work will be required (around 25%)
