Job Description:

The Techinician will be responsible for installing, adding, and maintaining various telecommunications equipment such as antennas, microwaves, cabling, and others. This position involves an outdoor work environment and requires physically demanding work, making it ideal for candidates who enjoy physical activity and outdoor work.

Responsibilities

Here's a glimpse into your daily tasks:

  • Conduct site surveys and inspections (notes, photos, details) and write or validate associated reports; 
  • Write the technical component of the mandates for the professional services required for the project and validate the engineering deliverables produced by the firms; 
  • Define components and record the equipment list and equipment order slips required; 
  • Provide technical support when carrying out work and commissioning and participate in the development of deployment plans; 
  • Update inventory systems as well as overall telecommunications network diagrams; 
  • Participate in the technical component of the approval and acquisition process for new equipment; 
  • Provide technical and operational support in the event of network outages; 
  • Focus on operating practices to ensure continuity of services; 
  • Technically support network planning and architecture activities; 
  • Develop the setting of telecommunications equipment, ensure configuration compliance, and frame changes in network configurations and production strategies; 
  • Maintain and repair coaxial and fibre-optic cable, link and related distribution and interconnection lines, including power grids and amplifiers; 
  • Inspect, monitor, test and adjust transmission and distribution cables; 
  • Repair or replace faulty cables, power supply equipment, amplifiers and other transmission and distribution devices; 
  • Contact other workers to coordinate the development and completion of the work.
