The Project Manager will provide overall management for both large and small scale telecom infrastructure projects, programs and operations. The PM will oversee regional construction operations and project responsibility with given clients and/or programs; managing personnel, vendors, subcontractors and other key personnel and their interactions with clients. He/She will directly manage Construction Managers and Field Technicians, including but not limited to: implementing company policies, aiding in the training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; evaluating employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. You should be a self-driven individual able to execute operations with minimal direction.

 

Reporting to the VP, the position is part of our Construction Division and provides leadership for direction setting, evaluates teams strengths and weaknesses, interfaces with other internal managers to determine appropriate courses of action to organize and manage the most productive and efficient teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide overall management for construction projects, programs and operations. Core components include: technology selection & integration, vendor relationships, client interface & management, project results, profitability, growth and team development.
  • Oversee regional operations and project responsibility; managing personnel, vendors, subcontractors and other key personnel and their interactions with clients.
  • Participate in a number of activities associated with field operations, including but not limited to safety, scheduling and resource allocation, customer relationships, time and expense processing, time management.
  • Aggressively manage and implement scope of work requirements to ensure attainment of project goals and objectives.
  • Maintains critical relationships with existing customers and develops relationships with new customers, earning the confidence and respect needed to grow and win new business.
  • Strategize with executive team to coordinate and optimize internal personnel, clients, pre-deployment initiatives, deployment meetings, client interface and deliverables as well as business development strategies to maintain consistent workload.
  • Leveraging appropriate communication strategies (email, phone call, etc.) to be highly effective at managing customer expectations on a professional and proactive basis. Must also leverage this same skill set to work through customer conflict/concerns. Avoid foreseeable customer issues through planning ahead.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory and quality requirements for all personnel and third-party vendors
  • Actively participate in the recruiting and training of project staff.
  • Other duties as assigned and/or needed.

 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • A minimum of 7 or more years of related experience driving operations with a preferred focus in construction, telecommunications and/or wireless.
  • Proven record of academic, professional and leadership achievement.
  • Experience managing at least 3-5 direct reports, 15-20 indirect reports well as various contractors/vendors.
  • High proficiency in MS Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and industry standard Project Management software required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Evaluate team’s strengths and weaknesses, interfacing with other internal managers to determine appropriate courses of action to organize and manage the most productive and efficient team.
  • Strategize with team to coordinate and optimize internal personnel, client interface and deliverables.
  • Embrace strong work ethics personally and throughout company and client teams.
  • Identify the problem, attack the problem, solve the problem, and then build a process that prevents the problem.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, corporate and quality requirements for all personnel and third-party vendors.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time exempt position. Days of work are Monday through Friday. Some evenings/weekends may be required. This position is based in Indianaplis, Indiana. Local candidates preferred. 

 

Travel

  • Travel to sites may be required, sometimes in excess of 50 miles
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to type, file or lift office supplies up to 25 pounds. The employee may drive for extended periods of time, including all weather and light conditions.
