Job Summary:

Brand new role due to company growth! The Warehouse Associate will be responsible for all tasks related to the warehouse, inventory, yard and office.  He/she will have a hands-on role in the warehouse, & inventory as well as interact with our field employees and our customers.  This position will be based at our warehouse in Columbus Ohio and is for someone with 1-3 years experience working in a warehouse

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

  • Load and unload materials and supplies from trucks
  • Assist in staging materials (kitting) for projects as requested
  • Perform equipment maintenance checks
  • Ability to operate a forklift 
  • Assists in maintaining vehicle maintenance records
  • Manages and executes ongoing cost saving and efficiency initiatives
  • Manages effective utilization of equipment and vehicle assets
  • Keeps management apprised of any delays, discrepancies, unsafe working conditions, vehicle or stockroom irregularities or maintenance issues
  • Maintains a clean, organized and safe stockroom and yard
  • Executes various warehouse transactions electronically
  • Tracks and cycle counts to ensure that stock levels are accurate
  • Assists in the deliveries or pick-ups to/from job sites and customer locations
  • Responsible for all shipping and receiving functions
  • Monitor and confirm accuracy of all material and stock for easy retrieval and verification
  • Follows established policies and procedures to ensure quality and cost control
  • Ability to transport vehicles needing work to and from maintenance sites.
  • Assist with general office / grounds maintenance when needed – ie: schedules sanding, salting, assist in plowing.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications

What You Will Need:

  • 3+ years experience in performing material handling activities within a warehouse desired. Telecommunications experience desired but not required
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Dependable, self-starter with an excellent work ethic; team-player and willing to help wherever needed; punctual and have a good attendance record
  • Excellent people person/communicator who has the ability to interact with customers, vendors and in-house personnel
  • Ability to utilize a computer, specifically MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Internet required
  • Regulars hours are Monday – Friday from 7:00a – 5:00p with the potential for additional OT.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Associates degree preferred, High School Diploma required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Repeated and frequent ability to lift, from floor to above head 50 lbs
  • Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet
  • Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and fax machines regularly during the course of work. Will be required to operate vehicle for Company business. Work is primarily performed in and out of an office environment
  • Environmental Conditions exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and loud noise
