Job Summary

Field Technician will be responsible for performing telecommunication site visits to gather data that displays current field conditions. Candidate is required to participate in field related work, including but not limited to, measuring, providing neat and accurate sketches, collecting site photographs and precise notes, completing site audit forms, and scheduling on-site meetings with others.  Site auditing must adhere to PM&A’s established process and standards.

What Will You Do

What You Will Do

  • Observe possible compound/ tower/ equipment defects or hazards that would require additional maintenance and report them accurately
  • Understand and strictly adhere to established tower owner or customer access procedures and safety requirements without deviation
  • Abide by company procedures and standards, OSHA standards, and all other standards for safety
  • Work in remote and challenging locations including, but not limited to: building rooftops, confined spaces, and all types of geographic locations nationwide
  • Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions
  • Ability to drive long distances on and off road
  • Must be able to assist in training and teaching new field technicians
  • Accurately follow instructions and complete assigned course of action in accordance with field scope of work

 

What You Will Need

What You Will Need

  • Experience in the telecom industry is preferred
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a similar field preferred
  • Understanding of basic tools and measurements
  • Must successfully complete and pass a background check, including criminal history check, MVR Check, employment history check, and education verification
  • Willing and able to travel for extended periods and perform outdoor field work in all weather conditions required
  • Working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, and Adobe required
  • Ability to multitask and learn new information quickly and effectively, self starter and team player
  • Excellent organizational skills, time management skills, and attention to detail required
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills required

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finger/handle/feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, talk or hear.
  • Occasionally the work requires the employee to walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.
  • Frequently the employee is required to lift or carry up to 10 or 25 lbs., and occasionally up to 50 or 100 lbs.
  • Able to climb to and work at heights exceeding 300’ feet.
  • The employee needs to have good vision for close work, distance, color discrimination, peripheral, and depth perception.
