We’re looking for motivated individuals to join our Underground Construction Crew. As an Underground Utility Assistant, you’ll work directly with the Foreman and team to support telecom utility projects. This role involves hands-on fieldwork, including digging, loading, and placing underground cabling of various sizes. If you’re dependable, safety-focused, and ready to learn, this is a great opportunity to build a career in underground utility and telecom construction.
Perform general construction and labor duties, including trenching, digging, and backfilling.
Safely operate hand tools and light equipment (shovels, compactors, jackhammers, chipping guns, etc.).
Assist with loading/unloading materials and placing underground telecom cabling.
Travel throughout New England with the crew (company-paid hotels + per diem).
Maintain a safe work environment for yourself, crew members, and customers.
Follow instructions and complete tasks efficiently in a team setting.
Support site preparation, cleanup, and equipment handling as needed.
Valid driver’s license (must pass routine screenings).
Willingness and ability to travel regularly.
Ability to perform physical construction work and repetitive tasks.
Strong work ethic — reliable, punctual, and safety-minded.
Ability to follow directions, work independently when needed, and contribute as a team player.
Must be 21+ years old.
Preferred but not required:
Class A CDL license.
Hoisting License (IC/2B).
Prior underground utility or telecom construction experience.
Basic knowledge of equipment maintenance, inspections, and material handling.
Weekly overtime opportunities.
Paid travel expenses (hotels + per diem).
Company-provided OSHA-10 certification within 90 days.
Hands-on training and career growth in underground telecom construction.
