Job Summary

 

Centerline has an Field Supervisor opening located in the service area of Rhode Island We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking individual to join a fast-growing company specializing in wireless communications and facility services across the country. The Field Supervisor will be responsible for the management  of a team that is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repairs for heating, ventilation, and cooling units for our commercial customers. 

What Will You Do

 

Responsibilities

1. Leadership & Accountability

  • Lead by example in professionalism, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.
  • Be the first point of contact for HVAC technicians — provide guidance, resolve on-site challenges, and ensure safety and compliance.
  • Maintain open and proactive communication with management regarding daily operations, issues, and accomplishments.
  • Represent the company positively at all client sites and interactions.

2. Daily Operations & Oversight

  • Oversee all assigned service and project work within your region.
  • Ensure HVAC technicians are properly dispatched, equipped, and briefed before site arrival.
  • Verify that all PMs, repairs, and installs are completed accurately, documented, and closed out in a timely manner.
  • Conduct random site visits for quality control and performance checks.

3. Communication & Reporting

  • Maintain clear communication between field teams, dispatch, and management.
  • Notify management immediately of any delays, safety incidents, or major customer concerns.

4. Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all technicians follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and job-specific JSA documentation.
  • Report and assist in investigating any incidents or near-miss events.
  • Verify refrigerant handling, recovery, and disposal meet EPA compliance standards.

5. Technical & Quality Assurance

  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to field techs.
  • Review completed work for quality, accuracy, and compliance with scope and customer standards.
  • Ensure all installations meet manufacturer and customer specifications.
  • Identify recurring site or equipment issues and recommend corrective actions.

6. Materials & Logistics

  • Monitor inventory, tools, and materials assigned to the team.
  • Verify material usage aligns with work orders and report discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure company assets (vehicles, tools, refrigerant, etc.) are managed responsibly.

7. Training & Development

  • Identify technicians’ strengths and areas needing improvement.
  • Provide field coaching, hands-on guidance, and mentorship where possible.
  • Support new-hire onboarding and ensure consistent work standards across all techs.
  • Participate in training sessions or manufacturer updates when requested.

8. Administrative & Time Management

  • Ensure PM and DM schedules are maintained and adhered to.
  • Assist management in forecasting manpower needs and scheduling coverage.

What You Will Need

 

  • Must have at least 5 years of Commercial HVAC experience
  • High School Diploma or Associate's Degree
  • Microsoft Office experience (specifically Word and Excel)
  • HVAC Journeyman, E02, and EPA Universal preferred
  • Willingness to travel (some overnight stay required)
  • Valid driver's license and a good driving record
  • Diagnose and repair of electronic, mechanical and electrical components of these systems.
  • Ability to work independently in a timely manner, making sure job is done correctly the first time.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills, oral and written communication skills.

Travel

  • Extensive travel to sites is required, sometimes in excess of 100 miles in a day (no overnight)
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license and be insurable under the company insurance policy.

The pay range for this position is $35-$55/hr including medical, vision, dental benefits, 401k retirement plan, and stock options available for eligible employees. However, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience (in addition to medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered). This information.  Scheduled shift is Monday through Friday.
