We’re seeking an experienced Telecom Field Construction Supervisor to manage onsite field construction of telecom networks in the Vermont market. This role involves overseeing end-to-end project execution, managing timelines, coordinating teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. We are looking for someone with proven telecom network construction experience. 

What Will You Do

  • Provide overall administration and technical management of the construction team
  • Responsibilities associated with the installation and construction of network elements inside and outside plant environment as well as at the customer site.
  • Provides planning, recommendations, and work guidance in support of productivity, within the construction environment
  • Responsible for supervising the activities of construction team with responsibility for some financial and/or operational results.
  • Translates individual operational goals into team goals.
  • Provides technical advice and subject matter expertise across multiple construction projects.
  • Contributes to the development of new concepts, techniques, and standards.
  • Regularly interacts with project management team.
  • Performs job duties consistent within the compamy's safety, standards and policies.
  • Leading, motivating, and developing a high performing team of construction technicians experienced in Outside Plant while driving change to meet strategic business goals
  • Oversight of all day-to-day functions of the team including work map design review, quality performance and time reporting.
  • Providing technical assistance and communicating technical information and status to project management team.
  • Coaching and developing a team to have a sense of urgency in providing on time performance as well as quality products for our customers
  • Supervisory level responsibility for planning, organizing, coordinating, and controlling the activities of the construction team.
  • Accountable for results in terms of operational construction goals, and employees.
  • Acts as an advisor and or expert to subordinates for elevated issues and problems.
  • Identifies appropriate resources needed and works with department manager to develop plan schedules.
  • Acts as a team lead within department, delegates work to team members.
  • Work with department manager throughout the hiring process for new hires as well as helping with retention of current team members
  • Ability to work with training team

What You Will Need

  • Possesses a broad knowledge of the fiber optic construction environment as well as general knowledge in supporting environments
  • Understands supervisory techniques with the ability to resolve employee relations as well as performance issues
  • Proven ability to work within an ever-changing environment.
  • Shown the ability to solve a wide range of technical problems and roadblocks and has shown the ability provide solutions to such
  • Advanced skills within all areas of the construction environment
  • Requires independent thinking.
  • Moderate Computer skills (Microsoft office)
  • Possesses the ability to identify quality and safety issues and working towards a team awareness in this area

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

Ability to sit, stand, climb, kneel, bend, lift, crawl, squat, reach and utilize both hands and feet in an aerial and underground capacity. Drive and operate a vehicle, and/or bucket. Environmental conditions: exposure is heat, cold, dust, wet, vibration and very loud noise. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods, stand, bend, walk, communicate via telephone, computer and/or face-to-face contact, vision to monitor, and use basic office equipment such as a personal computer, copier and fax machines regularly during the course of work. Work is performed in and out an office environment.
