The Financial Reporting Senior will support the SVP – Accounting in a multifaceted role responsible for and overseeing all facets of internal and external financial reporting.  S/he will be responsible for the development and distribution of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, as well as reports to our senior lenders and private equity sponsors.  The role ensures the maintenance and integrity of general ledger and chart of account information is properly reflected in the company’s BI tools.  This position requires a hands-on willingness to jump in and take-charge and lead person.  The successful candidate will be one who seeks a visible position which will support key decision making and addresses tight deadlines.  In addition, this person will work directly with the Chief Financial Officer at times on key initiatives needing financial reporting and analysis.

 

The candidate must be experienced and have the required educational background necessary to be successful in an ever-changing, results-oriented organization.  S/he must have a thorough knowledge of accounting and finance principles including best practices and procedures related to internal and external audit functions, GAAP accounting standards and ability to prepare monthly/annual financial statements.  The successful individual will need to rely upon experience, expertise and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.  A proven ability to perform a wide variety of reporting tasks.  Individual must possess a proficiency working within an ERP system and Business Intelligence (BI) systems.  Finally, the candidate must be well rounded, with the ability to work closely and cooperatively with all levels of the organization to standardize and improve performance measures and analytical methods to ensure integrity of information is consistent and relevant to senior management.  An individual with multi-entity and change management experience will be given a serious look.  The position will prove to be a challenging, rewarding and visible opportunity for the individual who possesses the requisite skills and attributes.

 

What Will You Do

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve financial reporting governance and internal controls to maintain the integrity and accuracy of financial information;
  • Collaboration with all departments that utilize financial data is essential, including information technology, financial planning, supply chain, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, treasury and business unit leaders;
  • Oversees financial reporting and financial analysis requests from executive leadership team, senior leadership team leaders, private equity sponsor and senior lenders in the compilation of financial statements, weekly cash flow statements and covenant compliance reporting;
  • In coordination with the Director – Accounting and SVP - Accounting will prepare annual audited financial statements and create comprehensive financial reporting policy documents to improve clarity and consistency;
  • Designs, develops, and optimizes enterprise-wide views of financial data and maintains the quality of that data across multiple platforms;
  • Assists and leads the development of financial analysis in support of monthly financial close process and ad hoc business unit requests for information;
  • Become the “super-user” of ERP systems and Business Intelligence platforms, overseeing current change initiatives and integration with supporting systems;
  • Provide guidance to other finance team members and complete assigned accounting tasks within deadlines;
  • Must ensure the month-end close is completed timely and accurately to support timing of monthly business reviews (MBRs) and monthly Board Meetings;
  • Change agent willing to get behind the numbers, seek new ways of performing daily/weekly tasks that will drive change and move the organization to new levels of performance;
  • Provide solid financial reporting and forecast accuracy while strengthening processes and procedures throughout the organization;
  • Aide in establishing annual budget and report on monthly performance versus those objectives; and
  • Perform other related accounting/financial duties as required or requested by SVP – Accounting, Chief Financial Officer and/or Chief Executive Officer.

What You Will Need

  • Minimum of 5 - 7 years of increasing level of responsibilities in a service industry that project costs and/or construction company;
  • Demonstrated strategic thinking surrounding the Company’s financial systems infrastructure;
  • Ability to leverage system capabilities for greater information decision making and improve automation of routine functions;
  • Ability to amicably solve issues and provide quality judgment and decision making;
  • Proven track record of developing, implementing and maintaining a financial reporting function;
  • Proficient in Excel and PowerPoint and an ability to learn internal systems programs;
  • Experienced in using Tier 1 or Tier 2 ERP systems, experience in Sage Intacct highly desired;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance related field required (CPA or MBA is preferred); and
  • Relevant experience in financial reporting is advantageous.
